Crimea is one of the warmest region in Russia with an average daily high temperature of 17 degrees centigrade. The climate widely corresponds to Central European weather conditions. Due to the warmer temperatures the best time for traveling is from May to September.

Fiolent cape, Sevastopol

The piece of land, formed by volcanic rocks, which intrudes into the sea, offers its visitors extraordinary beauty scenery. The main feature of the place are bare, open to all winds rocks of bizarre shape, sinking into the clear water. To the east of the cape is the famous Jasper Beach, to which you can go down an ancient stone staircase, numbering about 800 steps.

Lavender Fields

In Crimea, this beautiful plant began to be cultivated on an industrial scale to produce essential oil, beginning in 1928. In recent decades, the area of plantations has shrunk considerably, many of them abandoned. Such magical places can be found near Bakhchisaray - in the village of Turgenevka, near the villages of Kudrino and Shelkovichnoye, in the mountains near the villages of Rastushchee and Zavetnoye; near the suburb of Alushta - Lavandy village; at Cape Tarkhankut. Lavender fields are spread out on both sides of the road «Simferopol-Sudak».

Ai-Petri mountain, Koreiz

Ai-Petri Mountain resembles a magic castle with steep walls and half-destroyed towers. Its height reaches 1,234 meters. In the past, Ai-Petri is a huge coral reef, located at the bottom of an ancient sea that existed in the Upper Jurassic period. The main attractions on Ai-Petri are the cableway, ski slopes and suspension bridges.

The Swallow's Nest, Gaspra

One of the most popular sightseeing in the Republic of Crimea. It was built between 1911 and 1912, on top of the 40-metre (130 ft) high Aurora Cliff, in a neo-gothic design by the Russian architect Leonid Sherwood for the Baltic German businessman Baron von Steingel. Within the walls of the castle and in its vicinity were filmed many feature films. On the background of the original construction tourists make a lot of pictures.

Tauric Chersonesus, Sevastopol

The place of excavation of an ancient settlement, located on the territory of Sevastopol. The area is a UNESCO site, a museum-reserve of national importance. Now in the vast open-air square you can look at the remains of an ancient settlement with preserved ruins of numerous buildings (amphitheatre, thermae, Zeno's Tower).

Koyashskoye Salt Lake, Kerch peninsula

This unique natural attraction is located in the Opuksky Nature Reserve. The lake is the most salty on the Crimean peninsula. Another famous name of the lake is the Pink Lake. The water is of a bright pink color, thanks to the mud volcano, formed at the bottom, and the crayfish Artemia lives in the reservoir. The area is considered ideal for creating spectacular photos.

The Vorontsov Palace, Alupka

This architectural monument to Romanticism is one of the shiniest pearls in the crimean architecture.The Palace was build in the middle of the 19th century as summer residence of Russian statesman, Prince Mikhail Vorontsov, who was the governor-general of Russia's south. It was built from the local stone diabase, famous for its hardness. The palace was designed by Queen Victoria's court architect Edward Blore, who had already shown his talent in designing London's Buckingham Palace and Scotland's Walter Scott Castle.

Novy Svet, Sudak

Resort village in the Sudak region of the Crimea, on the shore of the Black Sea bay Sudak-Liman (also called the Green Bay), 6 kilometers southwest of the coast of Sudak - the former estate of Prince Lev Golitsyn. The village is known for the products of the champagne factory «Novy Svet».

Balaklava, Sevastopol

The town in the southwest of Crimea, 15 km from Sevastopol. It is located in a picturesque natural bay, separated from the open sea by rocks. Balaklava was once considered a closed city, because there was a submarine base. Now it is a popular resort, which has a rich history, great nature and excellent beaches in the vicinity.

Karadag Nature Reserve, Feodosia

Geological and biosphere reserve in the South-East of the Crimean peninsula on the Black sea coast. The whole territory of the reserve is an ancient geological fragment of an extinct volcano Jurassic of Kara - Dag. The stormy life of the volcano was probably 130-150 million years ago. This is one of the most popular tourist spots in the area resorts in Feodosiya, and here is one of the tourist symbols of the region – rock «Golden Gate». Visit in Hiking, marine or mixed tours.
